June Cafecito: Attack on DEI
June 2 | 8PM

In a time when Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) efforts are being challenged across industries, healthcare and education stand at a critical crossroads. This one-hour moderated panel will explore what these “attacks” mean in real terms for nursing practice, academic environments, and the communities they serve.

Featuring professors and human resources professionals from academic institutions, this discussion will examine how leaders in education are adapting and reframing their approaches to continue supporting diverse student populations. Panelists will share insights on the challenges they are navigating, the strategies they are implementing, and the realities of sustaining inclusive environments within evolving institutional landscapes.

Through honest dialogue and lived experiences, we will also explore how cultural identity shapes professional journeys, influences patient care, and impacts communication within both clinical and academic settings. Rather than focusing solely on policy, this conversation centers on people, what is at stake when DEI is questioned, and how professionals continue to lead with intention and purpose.

This session invites participants to listen, reflect, and engage in meaningful discussion about how culturally responsive practices can continue to grow, even in uncertain environments.

Leading Change: Health Policy Advocacy as an Ethical Responsibility for Nurses
July 1 | 8PM

Nurses are uniquely positioned to influence health policy at the local, state, and national levels. Grounded in the American Nurses Association Code of Ethics, this webinar frames health policy advocacy not as an optional activity, but as an ethical responsibility integral to professional nursing practice.

Participants will examine how ethical principles and the American Nurses Association Code of Ethics extend beyond the bedside to inform nurses’ advocacy related to laws, regulations, and organizational policies that shape patient and population health. The session highlights nurses’ ethical responsibility to address health inequities and advance evidence-informed policy.

This webinar is designed for nurses across practice settings who seek to deepen their understanding of ethical obligations in health policy advocacy and to identify practical, values-based strategies for engaging in policy-related efforts aligned with professional standards and ethical commitments.
