Webinar: Meningococcal Meningitis Prevention Can Be Complicated. Here’s What You Need to Know.
September 23 at 7pm ET

Join American Society for Meningitis Prevention and NAHN for a complimentary webinar is open to NAHN nurses, students and interested medical professionals.

The meningococcal meningitis prevention landscape is evolving rapidly with the introduction of the new pentavalent meningitis vaccine, covering all five serogroups (A, B, C, W, and Y) and the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) set to revisit vaccine recommendations early next year.

In addition to covering updates to the meningitis prevention landscape, this presentation will emphasize the critical need for comprehensive protection against meningococcal meningitis in clinical practice and the integral role nurses play in ensuring the health of the communities they serve. To underscore the importance of meningitis vaccination, two mothers will each share their personal stories of losing their young daughters to Meningitis B before a vaccine was available in the U.S. to help protect them. The webinar will conclude with practical strategies and resources that nurses can implement to improve meningitis vaccination rates among their patients.
